PELLATT, Retah Blanche (Eckhardt) - In loving memory of Retah Blanche Pellatt, 89 years, of Garson, who passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 1st, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian site. Born in Stouffville, she married William Norman Pellatt in 1939. Retah came to Sudbury in 1943 with her husband to build a promising life and to expand on their family. In her early days, she was actively involved in the Orange Lodge, the Adamsdale community playground and was a Den Mother for many years for the Minnow Lake Cub pack. Retah was a talented woman who quilted, knitted, crocheted and sewed. She and her husband attracted many passer bys to view their award winning gardens. Retah made so many delicious meals and special treats for us all and served them at a table where everyone felt welcomed. Beloved wife of William Norman Pellatt predeceased. Loving mother of William Jr. (wife Paulette) and Earl (wife Claire) both of Sudbury, Roy (wife Colleen) of Ottawa, Donna Raymond (husband Bernard) of Sudbury, Richard of Mission B.C., Wendy Parrott (husband Mark) of Garson. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dear daughter of William and Laura (nee Slack) and step daughter of Margaret (nee Morrison) all predeceased. Dear sister of Mabel Mitchell (husband Tom predeceased), Elise Adams (husband Lenard), Mary Elson predeceased (husband Lionel) and brother Gordon (wife Frances). Private family visitation in the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury, on Thursday, December 3rd. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers a donation to the NCRF would be appreciated. (No public visitation).
