SARVAS, William (Bill) Albert - In loving memory of William Albert Sarvas, 80 years, who passed away Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Center. Born in Biggar, Sask., Bill married Ivy (Eccleston) in 1954 in Hamilton moving to Sudbury the same year. They settled in Garson in 1960 building his home in 1970. He was retired mine captain from Falconbridge having 34 years service. After his retirement in 1985 he purchased a hobby farm in Worthington where he spent many times with his grandchildren. Bill was an accomplished wood worker and welder. He was a life member of the local Irish Club. He was devoted to his loving family especially his precious grandchildren in whom he took great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. Bill will be remembered as a very industrious and talented man whose light and love will continue to inspire and influence all he knew. Beloved husband of Ivy (Eccleston) Sarvas. Loving father of Douglas (wife Wanda), Carmen (husband Kevin Miller) and Sherry predeceased 1998. Cherished grandfather of Curtis (wife Colleen), Tara, Selene, Vanesa and great grandchildren Annie and Hazel. Dear son of John and Pauline (Veresky) Sarvas predeceased. Dear brother of Annie Marien, Helen Brown (husband Glen), Martha Jost, and predeceased by John, Bob, Don and Albina. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Friday, November 27th, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment in the family plot at the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Center would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday).
