JOHNSEN, John Elias - In loving memory of John Elias Johnsen, 83 years, who passed away Monday, November 9th, 2009 at the Extendicare - York. Beloved husband of Yvonne (Soulliere) Johnsen of Capreol. Loving father of Bruce of B.C., Dale (Bruce Klein) of Barrie and Marc of Capreol. Cherished grandfather of Graham, Erin, Dawn and Krista, and great grandchildren Brooke and Autumn. Dear son of Ole and Andrea Johnsen both predeceased. Dear brother of Oscar of Sparwood, B.C., Sam of Ridgeway, predeceased by Peter, Einar and Grace. Best friend with Ron Roy of Sudbury. Born in Winnipeg he married Yvonne in Levack, in 1949. John served as a miner at the INCO Levack Mine for 37 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Canadian Army, and a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Onaping Branch, then Capreol Branch. He was a member of the Elks Club, and he enjoyed darts, bowling, was a skilled curler, and especially spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love. Funeral service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, Michelle Dr., Hanmer Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 1 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Legion service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 179, Capreol.
