MONETTE-BRAIS, Alice (née Pitre) - The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the age of 71 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving daughter of Annette (née Séguin) (predeceased 1993) and Oscar (predeceased 1997) Pitre. Survived by her loving husband Pierre Brais, her children Daniel Monette (Irène), Louise Monette (Dale) and Roger Monette (Angèle) and their father Léo Monette. Also survived by her step-children Charmaine Brais, Paul Brais, Guy Brais, Alain Brais, Brigitte Brais and Louise Langis. Special grandmother of Renée, Eric, Meagan, Samantha, Veronique, Patrick and step-grandmother to numerous children. Dearest sister of Rita McKinnon (Ron, predeceased), Maurice Pitre (Ghislaine), Raymond Pitre (Noëlla), Huguette Goegan (Richard), André Pitre (Kathy) and Bernard Pitre (Sylvianne). She will always be remembered as a caring and generous person, who loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation to staff at the Sudbury Cancer Centre, the nurses at the SRH Laurentian Site, 4th floor and Memorial Site, 4th floor for their kind and compassionate care. A special thank you to Doris Sauvé, Amanda Trottier and to Tammy for their compassion towards Alice. A Memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Branch 553, 211 Cté Street, Chelmsford. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Chelmsford.
