MARTEL, Aldora (née Lemieux) - The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Daughter of the late Alfred and the late Mathilda (née Fortin) Lemieux. Wife of the late Fernand Martel, predeceased in 1984. Beloved mother of Georges “Marty“ and Marie both of Sudbury and Maurice “Moe“ (Georgette) of Hanmer. Dear sister of Lucia Clément of Sudbury and Marie Clément of Lively. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Marguerite Dubuc, Wilfrid, Rita Thompson and Robert. Sadly missed by her 3 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. Aldora's good character and the kindness of her heart won the affection of her loving family and friends who will miss her dearly. Aldora, who dedicated many hours as a volunteer at Pioneer Manor, will also be fondly remembered for having a passion to square dance, sing, play cards and cooking, especially her famous pies. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Monday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in St-Jean- de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.
