CARTIER, Leona “Leonie“ - The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury, on October 11, 2009 at the age of 71 years. Daughter of the late Edward and of the late Lily (née Kingsbury) Martin. Wife of the late Leonard Cartier. Special friend of the late Conrad Meilleur. Cherished mother of Germaine Cartier (Guy Demers) of Noëlville and Glen Cartier of Sudbury. Loving step-mother of Carole Huard, Raynald Meilleur, Elise Lamontagne, all of Azilda. Leona will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and step-grandchildren Adam, Ashley, Dale, Amélie Lamontagne, Danyelle Lamontagne, Justin, Collin and Kaitlyn. She is survived by her siblings, Buck, Emma and Laurette. Predeceased by her siblings Hector, Edmond, Ileen, Cathleen and Helenne. Leona lived life to the fullest, enjoying bingo, fishing, camping and especially spending time with her grand-babies. The family will receive relatives and friends at St-David's Chruch, Noëlville, Saturday, October 17, 2009 after 9:00 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed by a light lunch at Leona's residence. Donations (by cheque only) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario (Sudbury chapter) or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
