MANNINEN, Melvyn Vaino - In loving memory of Melvyn Vaino Manninen, 74 years, who passed away Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 at Pioneer Manor. Beloved son of Vaino and Onerva Manninen both predeceased. Loving brother of Mervin (wife Nancy). Cherished uncle of Lisa Manninen- Lanthier and great uncle of Joey and Dylan. Born in Toronto, he came to Beaver Lake in 1938, moving back to Toronto in 1954 and then finally returning to Beaver Lake in 1975. He worked for many years as a painter with his father's business. Melvyn was a past president and longtime member of the Whitefish Lion's Club. He was a gifted musician, in his youth he played drums with his father's dance band and he became a skilled saxophone player. At Melvyn's request there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME.
