DiFILIPPO, Almo “Dippy“ - In loving memory of Almo “Dippy“ DiFilippo, 81 years, who passed away Monday, October 5th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Site. Beloved husband of 58 years of Aino “Ann“ (Ikonen) DiFilippo. Loving father of Robert (wife Cindy) and Carol Frank (friend Alan). Cherished grandfather of Robbie (Anna). Angie (Vinny), Ashley and Krista (Steve). Dear son of Brando and Mary (Posocco) DiFilippo both predeceased. Dear brother of Elfo (wife Elsa), predeceased by Enzi (wife Helen). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born at Creighton Mine, he worked at INCO for 38 years, retiring in 1984 as a maintenance foreman. Dippy was a skilled athlete playing baseball for the Creighton Indians and earning a try out with the New York Ranger hockey team. In retirement he volunteered for 15 years with the Sudbury Regional Police at the Lively office. Dippy was a hard working man always passionate about his job. He loved his camp on Fairbanks and spending time with his family. Private family funeral service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Thursday, October 8th, 2009. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund would be appreciated. (No Public Visitation).
