RANCOURT, Diane (nee Carr) - In loving memory of Diane Rancourt (nee Carr). The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site at the age of 70 years. Diane fought a courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Gordon Carr and the late Mildred Carr (nee O'Brien). Sister to Lynn Carr of St. Albert, AB and Fran Butler (Fred) of Delta, BC. Beloved wife of Ronald Rancourt of Worthington. Predeceased by her first husband Kelly Thurlow, her son Scott and her daughter Heather. Leaving behind daughter Lynn Rebic (Slim) of Sudbury, Sheley Hayward (George) of Lively and Sheryl of Sudbury. Stepmother of Debbie Lacasse (Michel) of Espanola, Dale Rancourt of Syndey, NS and Alice Harmer (Doug) of Providence Bay. Sadly missed by grandchildren Chris, Jamie, Amy, Brad, Justin, Brandi, Kelly, Jessica, Amber, Katie and Nick. Cherished by great grandchildren Andrew, Alina, Thomas, Alyson, Abigail, Addison, Sienna and Keegan. Diane was always involved with the public. She worked as a secretary for various doctors in Sudbury, retiring from Dr. Ali in 2004. She was a Sunday School teacher in the basement of her home in Lively. She served one term as president of the Lively Legion. You could always identify her presence with her hearty laugh and pleasant smile. She was a strong believer in religious faith. A memorial service will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church on St. Pothier Rd. in Whitefish on Friday, October 9th, 2009 at 11 a.m. followed by interment of ashes at the Waters Cemetery in Lively. Donations to the North Eastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
