FANTIN, Dr. Joseph Virginio - Surrounded by family and friends, we announce the passing of Dr. Joseph V. Fanton, D.C. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, following a short illness. Cherished husband of Liliane (nee Whissell), caring father of Mathieu and proud new father-in-law of Mijanou (nee Gaboury). Loving son of Ruby (nee Dini) and Ampellio (Armand) Fantin (predeceased) of Coniston. Dear brother of Trudy Landry (husband Jack), Lawrence (wife Carol), and Laura McDonald (predeceased)(husband Terry). Dear son- in-law of Dea Whissell (wife Jacqueline, predeceased), loving brother-in-law of Jacques Whissell (predeceased), Jeannine McDonald (husband Bruce), Paul Whissell (wife Lizette) and Pierre Whissell (wife Diane). Cherished uncle of Cindy, Michael, Amanda, Lindsay, Katelyn, Natalie, Todd, Reese, Stacey, Cory, Melina and Nicholas. Joe also leaves behind his devoted canine sidekick, Cachou Charlie. Dr. Joe was a loving, devoted chiropractor and caregiver to his patients for 29 years. He loved what he did and did what he loved. Joe was a kind-hearted man who devoted his life to helping others. He especially enjoyed taking Liliane and Mathieu, joining other chiropractors in helping impoverished people in Panama and Cuba. Joe loved to spend time at his camp on Cache Lake cutting grass, or sitting on his deck or dock, looking at the water. He was an avid musician and he loved reading and spending time with his family and friends. Born and raised in Coniston, Joe will always be remembered for his wonderful risotto. Dr. Joe was one-of-a-kind; his kind and caring heart will live in the hearts of his family, friends and patients forever. Memorial visitation at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury 2-9PM Sunday only with parish prayers at 3PM. Private Family Funeral Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Coniston, Monday, October 5th, 2009. Cremation with interment in the family plot at St. John's Cemetery, Garson.
