PETTIGREW, James “Jim“ - In loving memory of James “Jim“ Pettigrew, 83 years, who passed away at the Maison VALE INCO Hospice on Thursday, October 1st, 2009. Beloved husband of Elise (nee Gauthier) of Val Caron. Loving father of Brian (wife Debbie) of Sudbury, Brenda Hicks (late husband Melvin) of Milton, James “Jim“ (wife Laurie) of Sudbury, Debbie Lanktree (husband Richard) of Toronto, Christy-Ann Landers (husband Mike Charron) of Sudbury, Lorraine Landers-Garganis (husband Jim) of Aurora and Angela Brazeau (husband Martin) of Bolton. Cherished grandfather of Stacey Laforest (husband Marc) of Sudbury, Amanda Forsythe (husband Jason) of Barrie, Travis Pettigrew of South Korea, Kevin Hicks (wife Sarah-Jane) of Milton, Serena Godda-LeBlanc (husband Joseph) of Thunder Bay, Angela and Kyla Pettigrew of Sudbury, Amber, Shawn, Brandon and Alias of Sudbury, Caitlin and Dylan Lanktree of Toronto, Jordan Brazeau of Bolton and great-grandfather of Logan, Mason, Emma, Owen, Gavin and Cheyden. Dear brother of Mackie (wife Donna) of Renfrew, Phyllis MacGregor (husband Bill) of Bath, Gary of Renfrew, Allan (wife Cammie, both predeceased) and Harry (predeceased). Also survived by his former wife Jeannette Pettigrew of Sudbury and by many nieces and nephews. Will also be missed by his beloved dogs Baily-Blu and Partner (Goofy). Jim was born in Renfrew on September 26th, 1926, son of William and Margaret, both predeceased. He was with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1944-1946 and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76. For 35 years, he worked at INCO and retired as General Foreman. Some of his favourite pastimes were fishing and hunting. The family would like to thank Doctors Jakelski, Aul, Juma, Gay, Luison, Prichard, Pearce and the nursing staff at the cancer treatment centre as well as the emergency staff and physicians at St. Joseph's Health Centre, staff at the 4th floor Memorial site, staff at 4th floor oncology of SRH and staff of VALE INCO Hospice. Memorial Service at the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment of ashes to follow at the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison VALE INCO Hospice would be greatly appreciated. (Friends may gather at the chapel after 12:45 p.m. Saturday).
