SMRKE, Lena - In loving memory of Lena Smrke. it is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Lena Smrke, September 27th, 2009 in her 85th year at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Born July 28th, 1924, she was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Theresa Stevens (both predeceased) and the loving wife of Michael (Mickey)(predeceased), and the dear sister of Rita Rumball (predeceased). She is survived by her sister Mary Palmaro, sons Anthony (Connie), John, Steve (Debbie). Grandchildren Todd (Christine), Jennifer, Matthew, Justin, Amanda, Ben (Amy) and Mark (predeceased). Great grandchildren Anthony, Carter, Grace and Hayden. Lena and Mickey were avid square dancers and often travelled out of town to pursue this hobby. Family was the centre of Lena's life and being an accomplished cook she was happiest making her famous gnocci and pasta and having her family around her at dinner. Lena will be sadly missed by all who knew her including many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St. Sudbury.
