MASSIMILIANO, Elvira - In Loving Memory of Elvira Massimiliano (nee Acri) The family announces with sorrow the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 at Extendicare York, Sudbury at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of Nicola Massimiliano (predeceased 2000). Loving mother of Angela (husband Luciano Scola predeceased 2006), Maria (husband Rocco Bozzo) and Enzo (wife Denise Castellan), all of Sudbury. Cherished Nonna of 11 grandchildren: Salvatore (Susan), Ed (Claudia), Linda, Gilda, Elena (Avi), Diana (Paolo), Eva (Steve), Ron (Paola), Dino, Christine and Cynthia. Loving great grandmother to 18 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Francesco Acri and Rosaria (Donato) both predeceased of Italy. Dear sister of Giuseppe, Carolina, Virginia, and Marcello all predeceased. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends in Sudbury, Toronto and Italy. Born in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy, on January 24th, 1915. Elvira came to Canada with her children in 1956 to join her husband. The focus of her life was her love and devotion to her family. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, whose visits she treasured. She was a devout Roman Catholic and a long time parishioner of St. Anthony's Church. Elvira will be remembered as a caring and generous person whose kind nature and “ditti d'antichi” will continue to inspire those who knew her. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St., at Hazel St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church 19 Mary St., Sudbury Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Civic Memorial Cemetery Prayers 3:00 p.m. Friday (FRIENDS MAY CALL 2-5 & 7-9 P.M.
