CARMAN, Janet Lenora (nee Golden) - It is with great sorrow and with loving memories that we announce the passing of Lenora Carman at her home in Elliot Lake on July 29th, 2009, in her 87th year after many courageous battles with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband Kenneth of 51 years. Loving mother of James (Jamie) (Jayne Evans), Richard (Rick) (Lori Giove), Bruce (Stephanie Ashworth) and Diane (Norm Randa). Adored Grandmother to Jason, Michelle, Kaitlynn, Peter, Jessica, Marissa, Jake, Brandon, Samantha, Brady, Caelan, Francesca, and Great-Grandmother to Preston. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Christy (predeceased by Martin) Geib and Helen Hopkin and by her bothers Gordon (Maxine) Golden and Winston Golden. Predeceased by her parents Richard (Dick) Golden and Ellen (Brough). Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Dewey (Hazel) Golden, Katie Carlyle (Bill), Eugene Golden (Nora), Vernon Golden (Marina), and Mae Lahti (Gene). In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Red Cross (Elliot Lake, Ont.). A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would also like to thank all of the people who assisted them during this time including Dr. DeBortoli, Dr. Long and their colleagues, the nurses and staff from Bayshore and the PSW's and staff from the Red Cross branch in Elliot Lake, as well as the volunteers and workers from Palliative Care, CCAC (Sault Ste. Marie), and all the other organizations and people who assisted us along the way.
