STEWART, Gladys Kathleen (nee Hawkins) - The sunrise of her life was August 7th, 1926 and the sunset was July 24th, 2009. In loving memory of Gladys Stewart who passed away after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Beloved wife of William Paul (Bill) Stewart predeceased 2000. Loving mother of Wendy Beauchamp (husband Garvin), Gale Leblanc (friend Ray), Paul (wife Audrey), Lori Beausoleil (husband Roy), Scott (wife Kathy) and Marsha Best (husband Sandy). Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Branden, Kelly, Jason, Brent, Jeff, Todd, Jennifer, Brad, Crystal, Jessica, Amanda, Evan and Nathan. Precious great grandmother of Sarra, Sydney, Brooklynn, Hayden, Katelyn, Riley, Ty, Holdyn and two on the way. Beloved daughter of Lena and Art Hawkins (both predeceased) of Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick. Beloved sister of Lila (Sudbury), Floyd, Malcolm (predeceased) and Jimmy of Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick. Gladys was born and raised in Beaver Harbour where she became an X-Ray Technician during the Second World War. She met Flight Sergeant Bill Stewart at a Royal Air Force dance before he was shipped to England where he served as Tail Gunner in a Lancaster Bomber. On his return, they were married on August 14th, 1945 in Cache Bay, Ontario and moved to Foleyet, Ontario where she taught Elementary School and he was the local Game Warden. They came to Chelmsford Ontario after Bill became an electrician at INCO. Gladys was a founding member of St. Stephen's United Church and an active member of the Friendship Place, which was set up to handle disabled people. Mom, May you dance in Heaven with Dad. All our Love! Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St., at Hazel St., Sunday, July 26th, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Chelmsford Cemetery.
