SMAGAC, Jean-Charles “John” - The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the age of 49. Beloved husband of Nynon (nee Genesse). Loving father of Jonathan, Crystal and Cynthia at home. Cherished son of Walter Frank and Glorianne Smagac of Hanmer. Dear brother of Paul, Gail Lafreniere (husband Richard), Jo- Ann Lemelin (husband Claude), Colette Lagrandeur, Walter (wife Nicole), Carmen, Rosanne (husband Dan St-Pierre) and Louann Thelland (husband Steve). Dear son-in-law of Maurice and Claire Charette. Dear brother-in-law of Yves Genesse (wife Debbie), Jean Genesse (wife Kathy), Yvan Genesse (wife Claudette), Tony Genesse (pre- deceased), Nicole Genesse and Nancy Genesse. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Born in Sudbury, John worked for Levitt Safety where through his hard work and dedication earned the respect of his colleagues and clients. He was a caring and giving person who always put everyone else ahead of himself. He was reliable and dependable. He was always the first to lend a hand, never refusing to help those in need. He had a great sense of humour and got pleasure out of making others laugh. John was a true gentleman and a brave heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family received relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph Street, Hanmer, Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. in St-Jacques Church, Hanmer. Masses or donations (by cheque only) to Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
