O'Brien, Delia

July 20, 2009 71

O'BRIEN (Martin), DELIA - December 9, 1937 - May 17, 2009 Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. Peacefully, at the age of 71 years, on May 17, 2009 and surrounded by her family, Delia passed into the arms of her Savior. She is sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, John, her three sons, Patrick (Donna) (Shelly); David (Nicola) from Calgary, ALberta and Dan (Dennis) from Vancouver B.C. Also left to mourn are her precious grandchildren, Michael Tyler, Carter and Jenna. Born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario Delia was a former Martin girl; she is survived by two sisters from Sudbury, Ontario, Denise Bourget and Terese (Pat) Moreau and a brother in law, John Dufresne (Pauline - deceased). Delia will be remembered as one of a kind who was a foster Mom to over 100 children in need of shelter. She lived everyday vigorously and had no regrets. Her joy of life made her friends with young and old, she will be missed so very much by family and friends. A service was held in Calgary, Alberta for her Alberta family and friends but Delia and John both wanted to come home to Sudbury for their final resting place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Bancroft Drive, Sudbury with a High Mass, on Monday, July 20th at 11 am and internment at the LaSalle Cemetery, where she will join her pre- deceased infant son, Michael. All are invited to attend to remember this loving, kind, warm and generous person who has left a lasting impression on everyone she met. I am the Swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight; I am the soft stars that shine at night.
