McDONALD, KENNETH BRUCE - In Loving Memory of Ken McDonald, a resident of Spring Bay and formerly of Sudbury will be remembered as a person who had a kind heart, helping people in any way he could. He had worked as a painter-sandblaster, having worked on many large structures, such as the bridge from Sault Ste. Marie to the U.S. as well as many other bridges. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing old furniture, swimming and the outdoors. He was an accomplished musician, having played with the Sudbury and District Pipe Band. During this time, he played in front of Queen Elizabeth in Ottawa and one year was the Drum Major at the Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest. Ken struggled with his illness most of his life, but remained the kind and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend he grew up as. Loved husband of Marcia Doucette and loving father of Malcolm, Meagan, Miranda, Johnson, Ocean and Auriel. Loved and loving son of Bruce and Mary (McKinley) McDonald. Loved brother of Jim McDonald and his wife Margaret of Spring Bay. Ken was a wonderful uncle to Mary, Sarah, Melissa, Danny and Maggie. Friends may call at the Burpee-Mills Community Centre, Evansville on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 12.00. Interment in Burpee- Mills Cemetery. Ken's family would like to extend their appreciation to the Manitoulin O.P.P. for the compassionate way they handled Ken before he went missing and to the family since then. To the staff of Mindemoya Hospital for their caring and wonderful manner in which they too, took care of Ken. Words cannot express the appreciation felt. Thank you!!
