CHIRKO, Irene Teresa (nee Burke) - Peacefully passed away in Sudbury, Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Steve and Louise (nee Clements) Burke. Wife of the late Joseph Chirko. Loving mother of David Chirko and Doreen Grenier (Jacques) both of Sudbury and Bill Chirko (Lynn Levac- Chirko) of Garson. Predeceased by her daughter Beverley McNamara (late Marcel). Dear sister of Bill Burke (Elizabeth), Lorraine Jurgilas (late Tony) and Frank Burke (Betty) all of Sudbury. Predeceased by her brothers Bob and George. Sadly missed by her granddaughters Loralie White (Jason) of Lively, Candice Bombardieri (Darren) of Sudbury and by her great- granddaughter Jessee. Lovingly remembered by her many relatives and friends. Irene was happiest when serving side by side with fellow Jehovah's Witnesses. Her Christlike love, warmth and compassion is etched into the hearts of all who knew her. She most enjoyed the special moments and ordinary days spent with her family. Irene was always noted for her womanly elegance and the creative flair she displayed in her beautiful home, where she loved to entertain. She was able to endure her last hours comfortably in her own home surrounded by loving family and friends. This blessing was made possible because of the compassionate efforts of Vale Inco Hospice nurse Kerry and Bayshore nurse Natalie. Also we recognize Irene's PSW Louise for providing wonderful homecare. The absence left by Irene will be filled with many pleasant memories. In keeping with Irene's request, there will be no visitation. The family will receive relatives and friends for a Memorial Service to be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall, 1050 Lonsdale Avenue, Sudbury. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
